The World's Closet
The Story begins in 2014, at age 31, when I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. After 6 months of extensive treatment, I left on a soul-searching adventure. I met a woman in Cambodia with a product that inspired me to make a difference in my life and the lives of others. It took me 3 years and a reassurance of stage 4 breast cancer to make a change. I made my first order and set up at a first market. The products were received by so many in the community and 5 month later I opened the website.
The ecofriendly bags are created from rice, cement and fish food bags. They are collected from construction sites, fish farms and restaurants, washed, dried and sewn into everyday bags. Each style of bag is sewn by a native Cambodian that is paid for each piece made. The extra money will help feed and house their family. A little can go a long way.
Our goal at The World's Closet is to bring you ecofriendly, handmade, creative products from around the world. If you like traveling and have a good eye for products we would love to have you on the team. Send us an email for information on how to be a world shopper.
